Entertainment announced for South Dakota capitol centennial

Fiddlers, singers and Native American dancers are among the entertainment planned for the Capitol Centennial Celebration later this month in Pierre.

Michael Pangburn of the South Dakota Arts Council says entertainers from across the state are scheduled to perform between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT June 19.

Scheduled performers include Nordic Nimble Feet of Brookings, the South Dakota National Guard’s 147th Army Band and children’s choirs from Rapid City and Pierre.

A free picnic will also be offered.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs.
