Starting this fall, University of Wyoming students can take a class to learn the Eastern Shoshone language.
The UW American Indian Studies Program and the Department of Modern and Classical Languages are sponsoring new language class.
The class will be taught by an enrolled Eastern Shoshone tribal member who has worked closely with three tribal elders since 2002 to compile a dictionary of the Eastern Shoshone language in written and digital formats.
