Arizona, Fort Defiance – Funeral services for Grace M. Bia, 66, of Window Rock, were held Jan. 10, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Mission Episcopal Church in Fort Defiance.  Interment followed in Fort Defiance.  Grace was born Sept. 23, 1952, in Fort Defiance, into the Apache/Tachii’nii (Red Running Into the Water Clan), born for Totsohnii (Big Water Clan). 

Grace passed away Jan. 2, 2018, in Tohatchi, New Mexico. Grace is survived by her son, Allen Harragarra; brother, Gabriel Bia; sisters, Victoria Bowman, Theresa Begay and Christine Hatch; and two grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary H. and William C. Bia; grandparents, Charlie and A-Ho-Bah Tsosie and Carl Bia and Eunice Blackgoat; Michael H. Bia, Clifton A. Bia, Wilma J. Lily and Gail Tsosie. Arizona, Scottsdale – Funeral services for Sam Little were held Jan. 11, 2018 at the Papago Ward of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints on the Salt River Reservation.  Burial followed at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.  Sam passed away Jan. 3, 2018.  Sam was born into the Todich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan) on the Navajo Reservation near Cow Springs, AZ., on Dec. 31, 1920. Sam is survived by his wife, Ada Little; son, Dr. Dennis Little; daughter, Mary Ann Bear; and seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Sam attended New Mexico Highlands University when Pearl Harbor was attached in 1941.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS General Morton. Sam was discharged on Dec. 22, 1945.  He reenlisted in Aug. 1948 and served for 25 years.  Sam was aboard the USS Hornet and participated in recovery efforts when the Apollo 11 mission to the moon landed in the Pacific Ocean.  He retired from the U.S. Navy on Nov. 1, 1974. Arizona, Tolikan – Funeral services for Herbert Joe, 60, of White Lake, MI., were held Jan. 11, 2018 in Tolikan.  Burial followed.  Herbert was born June 20, 1956 in Tolikan.  Herbert passed away Dec. 26, 2017 in White Lake. Herbert is survived by his son, Reyburn Joe; 12 siblings and two grandchildren. Herbert attended Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, AZ., from 1978 to 1980 and earned an associate’s degree in middle management.  He also attended Arizona State University in Phoenix. Reginald is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Peter (Pam) and Richard (Brenda) Baird, five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; brothers, Laban W., Allen, Calvin, and Kenneth; and sisters, Rebecca and Miriam. Reginald was the oldest living tribally enrolled member of the Oneida Nation.  He was a U.S Army Veteran of World War II.  He was employed with Hoffman Construction Co. of Two Rivers, WI for over 30 years. Dorothy passed away Jan. 28, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.  Dorothy Helen Tainer was born May 8, 1969 in Red Lake, MN to Kenneth Sr. and Rose (Greenleaf) Tainter.  Dorothy is survived by her husband, Raul; sons, Raul (Steven) Aguilar Jr., Liopoldo (Jenni) Aguilar, and Romulo (Bethany) Aguilar; eight grandchildren; sister, Laurie Tainter; half-brothers, Alan (Twig) Tainter, Dean (Linda) Tainter, Darwin Tainter, and Andrew Tainter; half-sisters, Kim Pearson, and Robin (Ron) Crabtree.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arthur Tainter; and half-brothers, Michael Greenleaf, and Kenneth Tainter Jr. Dorothy grew up in Minneapolis, MN. Jourdan, Sr., 55, of Oneida were held Jan. 31, 2018 at Newcomer Green Bay Chapel.  Daniel was born Dec. 3, 1962 to Norbert and Susan (Cooper) Jourdan, Sr.  Daniel passed away Jan. 25, 2018. Daniel is survived by his wife, Tina; children, Daniel Jr., Brandon, Jeremiah, Martina and Selena; siblings, Vicki , Tom, Mike (Kay) Jourdan and Betty Orley; nieces and nephews; step-father, Bill Rayme; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Rendell) Miller, Samantha (Emmett) Skenandore, and Francine (Donald) Weaver.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norbert Jr.; sisters, Marilyn, Donna, and Mary Jourdan. Wisconsin, Oneida – Funeral services for Ricky R. Dickson, 68, of Green Bay were held Jan. 27, 2018.  Ricky was born Dec. 2, 1949 in Green Bay to Ronald D. and Shirley A. (Hartleben) Dickson.  Ricky passed away Jan. 24, 2018. Ricky is survived by his wife, Barbara; mother; mother-in-law, Blanche Powless; sister, Peggy (Norbert) Budz; 4 children, 2 step-children, and 8 grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, aunt and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, David and Louise Dickson, Maurice and Ann Hartleben; niece, Wendy A. Tisch, father-in-law, Deacon Edmund C. Powless and sister-in-law, Patricia and brothers-in-law, Doug and Corey. Wisconsin, Oneida – Visitation and memorial service for Priscilla “Pre” Leverance, 65, was held Jan. 23 and 24, 2018 at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home.  Priscilla was born Oct. 28, 1952 to Paul and Josephine (Jordan) Oudenhoven. Priscilla passed away Jan. 19, 2018.   Priscilla is survived by husband, Lawrence; children, Ian (Samantha) Leverace and Tiera (Aaron) Schulz; grandchildren, Brayden, Levi, Kaylee, Riley and Jameson; brother, Thomas Oudenhoven; sister, Henrietta (Francis) Cornelius; brothers-in-law, Greg (Suzanne) and Edward Leverance; sister-in-law, Jeanne (Kenny) Lydick, nieces, Jessica Wallenfang, Lisa (Butch) Summers, Amelia (Brandon) Cooper, and Lindsey Oudenhoven; many great-nieces and great-nephews, Bryce, Jake, Lia, Regina, Taylor, Alex, Richard, Lillian, Katelyn, Brandon Jr., and Kai; and two adopted granddaughters, Avery Dietzen and Jennafer Holmberg. Wisconsin, Oneida – Funeral services for Nori Joyce Damrow, 91, of Oneida were held Jan. 21, 2018 at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory. The Oneida Hymn Singers sang before the funeral service.  Nori will be laid to rest in the spring in the Oneida Sacred Burial Grounds.  Nori was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Oneida WI. to Walter and Pearl (Archiquette) House.  Nori passed away Jan. 18, 2018. Nori is survived by her son, Lloyd (Sharon) Powless; grandson, Mark (Eva Martinez) Powless; great-grandsons, Alexander Quinton, Mark Lopez, and Esai T. Powless; siblings, Gordon House, Loretta R. (Stanley) Webster, Carol Artman, and June Marie Cornelius.  She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Martha Jane Baldovino, Ruth Myra Skenandore, Walter House, Jr., James Wheelock House, and three nephews, Steven James House, Joe Baldovino, and Lee Domencich. Wisconsin, Oneida – Funeral service for Lawrence A. “L.A.W.” Wilson, 92 was held Jan. 24, 2018 at Ryan Funeral Home followed by full military rites with burial in the Pembine Cemetery.  Lawrence was born Jan. 14, 1926 to Eugene  and Betty Wilson.  Lawrence passed away Jan. 17, 2018. Lawrence is survived by his children, Larry (Barb), Vickey, Daniel, Debra (Jim), Diane, Errol, Pam (Johnie), Colleen, Dorothy (Paul); siblings, Harold, Erv. Scott, Lorraine, Darlene, and Mary; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; sons, Lester and Dale; and brothers, Wayne and Vern. Wisconsin, Crandon – Funeral services for James G. “Bud” Polar Jr. (Wab-thig-we White Thunder), 32, were held Jan. 25, 2018 at Lake Lucerne Gospel Chapel in Crandon, WI.  Interment followed at the Potawatomi Tribal Cemetery in Crandon.  James passed away Jan. 20, 2018 at home.  James was born in Rhinelander on Aug. 10, 1985 to Francine VanZile and James Polar Sr. James is survived by his parents; daughter, Harmony Shockto Gillett; son, Wyett Shockto; sisters, Anndrea McGeshick, Jaimie (Mark) Seymour; brothers, Austin, Ahren (MaKayla), Dillion, Taylor Polar and Taylor (Andriana) Maki; grandmothers, Marie Polar and Ruth (Shockto) Weso.  He is preceded in death by his son, Asher Shockto; grandfathers, LeRoy L.
