Roy, Craig David Sr: Walking On

Red Lake, Minnesota March 2011

Traditional funeral services were held for CRAIG DAVID ROY, SR, 46, on January 18, 2011, at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake. Interment followed at family burial grounds in Clearwater, Minnesota. Craig was born August 12, 1964, in Red Lake. He passed away January 1, 2011, at his home, along with his lifelong companion, Darla Beaulieu.

Craig was raised and educated in Red Lake. He attended about one year of auto mechanic school in Fargo, North Dakota in the 1980s. He moved to Minneapolis in 1985. He attended and completed two years of carpentry at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji. His family made their home in Red Lake and later moved to his motherÂ’s home in Clearwater, which was always known has his home. He was a very hard worker and always busy. He always made sure his kids were well taken care of, and was very proud of his grandsons. He did carpentry in the area for 23 years, owning his own business. He also worked at the Warroad and Thief River Falls Casinos and Red Lake Housing. Craig enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and attending powwows.
