Yazzie, Douglas Ferninand: US Marine Veteran Walks On

Ganada, Arizona

Funeral services were held for DOUGLAS FERNINAND YAZZIE, 42, on July 1, at Cornfields Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. Interment followed at Ganado Community Cemetery. Douglas was born October 3, 1968, in Apple Valley, California. He passed away June 25, 2011, in Ganado, Arizona.
   
Yazzie’s accomplishments included graduating from Cornfields Christian Day School, attending Fort Lewis College. Employements include housing construction and highway construction. He served in the Marines as a lance corporal between 1987-1991. He received several medal honors. He was also in the Gulf War and Desert Storm as a field radio operator. Yazzie enjoyed spending time with his daughters, nephews and nieces. Also he enjoyed making jokes with people. (Navajo Times, June 30, 2011)
