Arthur-Tahkeal, Manita Lanell: Walking On

Yakima, Washington

Funeral services were held for NANITA LANELL ARTHUR-TAHKEAL, 52, on September 6, at the Toppenish Community Center. Interment followed at Satus Point Cemetery. Nanita was born February 7, 1959, in Portland, Oregon. She passed away September 3, 2011, at the Yakama Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
   
Nanita was a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Tribes in Oregon, but lived on the Yakama Reservation most of her life. As a pastor, Nanita traveled to many camp meetings throughout the Northwest to spread the word of God. She enjoyed singing, basket weaving, gathering traditional foods and helping the elderly people.
