Koons, Pauline Ruth: Walking On

Grants, New Mexico

A memorial service was held for PAULINE RUTH KOONS, 78, on October 1, at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Grants. Pauline was born in 1933, in Birmingham, England. She passed away September 25, 2011, after battling pancreatic cancer.
   
Pauline attended boarding school in North Wales from the age of 11, during World War II and until the age of 16, when her family moved to the United States in 1949, setting in Portland, Oregon. Pauline, also known as "Sister Koons, " was a faithful child of God and served her Savior as a missionary for over 50 years. She learned to read and speak the Navajo language and held classes teaching others. (Navajo Times, September 29, 2011)
