Dana L. Sharlow, age 44 of LCO, passed away, December 28, 2007, at her home. Dana Lee “Bug” was born August 24, 1963, in Hayward, the daughter of Alex & Evelyn (Carley) Sharlow. Dana attended Headstart in Reserve, Hayward Schools and graduated high school from LCO in 1981.


She enjoyed playing softball, volleyball, going to pow-wows and the casino. Dana lovingly raised her poodles and enjoyed gathering wild rice and shoveling snow. Dana worked many years as a weekend manager at the LCO Halfway House, she was also a member of the LCO Fire Department. She could always be seen carrying a Pepsi around which was her favorite drink.

She is survived by her mother Evelyn Sharlow; sisters Debra (Melvin) White, Dianne Sharlow, Doris (Marvin) Sharlow, Denise (Jack) Hamilton, Denelle Sharlow all of LCO; many nephews & nieces.

Dana was preceded in death by her father Alex Jr; grandparents Byrol & Ruth (Coon) Carley, Alex Sr. & Anna (Buck) Sharlow, infant sister & uncles & aunts.

Tribal Funeral Rites were held beginning with a feast at 11:00 a.m. on December 31 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Jerry Smith officiated. Burial was in the Historyland Cemetery. Visitation was on December 30 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.

Honorary Casket Bearers were James Hamilton, William Morrow, Johnny “Chum” Smith Jr., Mitch Sharlow, Melvin White Sr. & Melvin White “Mat” Jr.

Casket Bearers were Charles Belille, Michael Belille, Richard Belille, Robin Belille, Stuart Belille & Larry LaSieur.

Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward assisted Dana’s family with the arrangements.
