Leila C. Lynk, age 55 of LCO, passed away, October 29, 2008, at Miller Dwan Medical Center in Duluth.

Leila Cheryl was born September 12, 1953, in Hayward, WI, the daughter of Arthur & Margaret (Winters) Lynk. She grew up in Milwaukee before moving to Chicago where she refurbished woodwork. Leila moved back to LCO in 1986 where she was a child care provider.

She is survived by her mother Margaret of LCO; daughter Dawn Johnson of St. Croix; sons Martin Johnson III of St. Croix, R. James Nickence of LCO; grandchildren Brittney & Robert Coon Jr., Ambria & Jolita Johnson; brothers Ron (Kathy) Winters of Cass Lake, MN, Arthur (Donna) Lynk Jr. of Odanah, Dwayne Lynk of LCO, Robert (Anne) Lynk of Guntown, MS; sisters Cindy Kirk of LCO, Stephanie (Terry) Hancher of WA; significant other Jeff Pagel of LCO; many nephews & nieces; close friends Yvette Thayer, Heather Grover & Joseph Parker.

Leila was preceded in death by her father, sister Lanea, grandson Baby Johnson-Coon & niece Meg Rose Lynk.

Tribal Funeral Rites were held  November 3, 2008, at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Lewis Taylor officiated. Burial was in Historyland Cemetery in Hayward. Visitation was held on November 2 at the funeral home.

Honorary casket bearers were Martin Johnson Jr., Martin Johnson III, Robert Kirk, Mason Malone, James Nickence & Felix Yanez Jr.

Casket Bearers were Jerry Kirk, Richard Kirk, Arthur Lynk, Jeff Pagel, Joe Parker & Ron Winters.
