UPDATE: Services scheduled for two killed in Green Bay, Wisconsin accident

Two well known dancers from the pow wow circuit were killed in a single car roll-over the early morning hours of August 25th.

Mike Peltier, 43 (Oneida Wisconsin/Manitoulin Island) and Zeke Diamond, 35 (Oneida Wisconsin/Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe) were both ejected from the vehicle in an early morning roll-over accident in the town of Hobart on the Oneida Reservation at Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The accident occurred on Brown County J in Hobart just north of the Brown County Golf Course. The accident was reported at 5:43 am in the morning.

Peltier was a well know traditional dancer and veteran. Diamond a grass dance/fancy dancer. Both traveled the pow wow circuit far and wide over the years.

Information on services and such will be posted from Funeral Home notice on the afternoon of August, 26th.

For Zeke Diamond: According to Native American Church Traditions, friends may call at the family home, 2875 Commissioner Street, Oneida, Wisconsin after noon on Thursday, August 27, 2009. Native American Church Services with Vincent Buddy Powless officiating will be held at the home of Dorothy Powless, N5679 Skylar on Friday evening until time of final resting. The family will process to Oneida Tribal Cemetery for interment at 1:00 pm Saturday, with Vince Beyl, conducting last Rites.

For Mike Peltier: Family and friends may call from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM Thursday Aug. 27 at the Michael and Virginia Peltier family home, 894 Riverdale Drive Oneida. Oneida VFW will hold a veteran ceremony at 3:30 PM at the home, following the Veteran ceremony we will process to Zoar, WI where services will continue until 2:00 PM Friday, Aug. 28, 2009.

Procession will leave at 2:00 PM from Zoar, WI on Friday for Traditional Burial Services at 3:00 PM at the Oneida Tribal Cemetery in Oneida
