Williams, SR. Roger Salaba: Walks on

ARIZONA, Sanders – Funeral services for ROGER SALABA WILLIAMS, SR, 67, were held September 4, 2009 at Nahata Dzil Cemetery in Sanders. Roger was born March 14, 1942, in Howell Mesa, Arizona. He passed away August 31, 2009, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Roger and family relocated from Hopi Partitioned Land area. He sacrificed for the homeland at Howell Mesa. Roger attended Tuba City Boarding School up to the 6th grade graduating from Phoenix Indian School in 1964. He attended Arizona State College for a year and a half and enlisted in the Army in 1966 serving in Vietnam with special forces and was discharged in 1968. He was trained in vocational building trades through Northland Pioneer College and was a member of the local veterans organization. He was a painter at Palo Verde Power Plant from 1969 to 1972.
