Yazzie, Dannie Henry: Walks on

ARIZONA, Spider Rock – Funeral services were held for DANNIE HENRY YAZZIE, 85, were held October 19, 2009, at the Dine Hogan Baptist Church at David Brown’s  residence in Spider Rock. Interment followed at the family plot in Spider Rock. Dannie was born January 30, 1924, in Spider Rock. He passed away October 13, 2009, in Winslow Arizona.

Dannie was a World War II veteran and served in an Air Force reconnaissance squadron in the Western Pacific, for which he received the following honors: Good Conduct medal, American Campaign medal, World War II Victory medal, and Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal. Dannie worked in Bellemont, Flagstaff, and various jobs in California for 14 years. He was a good family man, hard worker and a man of all trades. (Navajo Times, October 22, 2009)
