Sandoval, Gil: Walks on

ARIZONA, Fort Defiance – Funeral services were held for GIL SANDOVAL, 55, on October 17, 2009, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Fort Defiance. Interment followed at the Fort Defiance Community Cemetery. Gil was born May 15, 1954, in Ganado, Arizona. He passed away October 13, 2009, in Fort Defiance.

Gil is a 1972 Window Rock high school graduate. He played football, basketball, baseball, and softball. He attended college at Navajo Community College and Sinte Gleska College in Rosebud, South Dakota. He received certificates in elementary education. His ambition was to be a sign language interpreter. He worked as an asbestos abatement worker up until his death. His hobbies included playing softball, attending powwows, leatherwork, and wood carving. (Navajo Times, October 15, 2009)
