McClure, Christine: Walks On

MONTANA, Arlee – Funeral services were held for CHRISTINE MCCLURE, 80, on September 5, 2009, at the Arlee Community Center. Interment followed at the Jocko Cemetery. Christine was born in Arlee. She passed away September 2, 2009, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana.

A member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, she was educated in Arlee and in St. Ignatius at the Ursulines School. Christine was a hard and strong worker who was willing to help with anything. Througout her life she raised cows, horses, dogs, and hay. Christine loved to bead and was well known for moccasins and Indian dolls. Her beadwork can be found throughout the world including England and South Korea. Beading was her stress reliever, one of her greatest joys in life and she was always happy to get a new order. Up to her last days she was taking orders and was excited to begin her work.
