Allard, L. Douglas "Colonel Doug":Walks On

MONTANA, St. Ignatius – Traditional wake services for L. DOUGLAS “COLONEL DOUG” ALLARD, 78, were held September 19, 2009, at the St. Ignatius Community Center. Funeral services were held September 20, at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Colonel Doug was born August 30, 1931, in St. Ignatius. He passed away September 16, 2009, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula with his children and grandchildren at his side.

Colonel Doug attended grade school in Ronan and high school in St. Ignatius where he graduated in 1949. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman for two years before enlisting in the Marines. After his tour of duty in Korea, Doug returned to college and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and grandchildren, watching basketball, travelling, working out at the fitness center with “The Crew” every morning and supporting his children in dance, music and sports.
