WASHINTON, Tacoma Funeral services for LEROY JOHN SLOCKISH, 46, were held August 21, 2009. Interment followed at the Reservation Community Memorial Park. Leroy was born January 30, 1963 at Spokane, Washington. He passed away at the Tacoma General Hospital.
A member of the Yakama Nation, Leroy joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, serving as a driver-mechanic. He earned military decoration as sharpshooter (M-16 rifle); Overseas service ribbon; Amry Service Ribbon; and was Honorably Discharged in 1987. Leroy was employed by the Yakama Nation for over ten years at different programs and enterprises including the Yakama Nation Tribal Water & Sewer; Yakama Nation Credit Enterprise; and the Yakama Legends Casino as a maintenance/engineer.
