Police say a 52-year-old homeless man suspected of killing an acquaintance in a fistfight in downtown Salt Lake City turned himself in to Bureau of Indian Affairs officials.

Salt Lake City police Lt. David Cracroft said Reuben “Sonny Bear” Cesspooch surrendered last week in Fort Duchesne and was taken to a hospital for an unspecified reason.

Cesspooch is accused of fatally injuring 54-year-old Roy Jackson during a fight just north of Salt Lake City Hall.

Police say Jackson died of head injuries.

Police Sgt. Robin Snyder says both men were homeless and apparently knew each other.
