2 charged in ND drug case linked to health service

Bismarck, North Dakota (AP) November 2010

Two people face federal charges in connection with a drug case linked to the Indian Health Service.

A release from U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says Timothy Davis Jr. and Candace Keplin, formerly of Belcourt, appeared last week in federal court in Bismarck. They’ve been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute the prescription drug hydrocodone and acquisition of a controlled substance by misrepresentation.

Purdon says the drug came from the health service “by misrepresentation.”

A number listed for a Timothy Davis in Belcourt rang unanswered last week. No number was listed for Keplin.

David and Keplin each face up to 14 years in prison if convicted. A trial date has not been set.
