Two men sentenced for Fort Peck house fire

Great Falls, Montana (AP) November 2010

Two men have been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for their roles in a 2007 fire that caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to a house on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

Tyrell J. Connor and Ryan S. Jackson were sentenced last week by U.S. District Judge Sam Haddon in Great Falls to three years and nine months in prison and five years of supervised release. Each was held responsible for $220,231 in restitution.

Prosecutors say Connor and Jackson were at a house party near Wolf Point in September 2007. People at the party began vandalizing the house and stealing things. Prosecutors say Connor and Jackson set the house on fire.

The 24-year-old Connor pleaded guilty to arson while Jackson, who is 23, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting arson.
