Phoenix, Arizona (AP) January 2011
A New Mexico man has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for two violent home invasions on the Navajo Nation last February.
Federal prosecutors said last week that 23-year-old Patrick Aaron Moone fired a gun at a homeowner in one invasion and pistol-whipped a minor in the other as he searched for a missing dog on Feb. 25.
Moone, of Waterflow, N.M., pleaded guilty last September to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon against a minor, one count of use of a firearm during a crime of violence and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Tribal police say Moone fled the area shortly after the two home invasions, but was arrested a short time later.
