A Pine Ridge woman has been sentenced for embezzling from the Oglala Sioux tribe.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 35-year-old Latonna Weasel Bear was sentenced to the day she had previously served in jail and ordered to repay $1,570.
Authorities say Weasel Bear took the money in 2009 while working for the tribes treasurers office and used it to pay personal bills. She was indicted in January and pleaded guilty in March.
