A man has been indicted for second-degree murder in the death of another member of the Gila River Indian Community south of Phoenix.
Prosecutors say a federal grand jury in Phoenix also indicted 22-year-old Martin Oliver Pablo for the use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
The indictment returned alleges that Pablo was involved in an April 7 shooting death on the reservation. Details were not immediately available.
Prosecutors say a conviction for second-degree murder carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and/or a $250,000 fine while a conviction for use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence carries a minimum of 10 years in prison.
Authorities couldn’t immediately say whether Pablo has legal representation yet for his case.
