Police investigate death at casino parking garage

Mashantucket, Connecticut (AP) 6-08

State police are investigating whether a person who died at the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods casino jumped from the parking garage, accidentally fell or was the victim of a crime.

Authorities have not released the person’s name. The incident happened around June 4.

Trooper William Tate says the death does not appear to be criminal in nature. Investigators are calling it an untimely death and trying to determine whether it was a suicide, accident or homicide.

Other details are not available.

The Mashantucket Pequot Indian tribe, which runs Foxwoods Resort Casino near Ledyard, opened the $700 million, 30-story MGM Grand casino and hotel next to Foxwoods last month.
