The former artistic director of the Tulsa Ballet has been charged with financially exploiting his mother – who co-founded the Tulsa Ballet.

Roman L. Jasinski is accused of taking the Social Security and Tulsa Ballet retirement payments made to Moscelyne Larkin.

Police say Jasinski embezzled more than $10,500 from the 83-year-old Larkin from June 1st, 2007, until January 31st of this year.

Jasinski’s attorney says his client hasn’t stolen anything from his mother.

Larkin is one of Oklahoma’s Indian Ballerinas. In 1956 she and her husband – the late Roman Jasinski – founded what is now the Tulsa Ballet.
