Human remains found in Ashland

Billings, Montana (AP) 6-08

Authorities have confirmed that human remains were found in Ashland.

The remains were found on May 30 and have been sent to an FBI laboratory for testing.

However, authorities won’t say whether there’s a connection between the remains and a 32-year-old woman who’s been missing since May.

Family reported Rosella Woodenthigh missing on May 19. Elizabeth Hall, assistant special agent in charge of the Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Justice Services, says Woodenthigh split her time between South Dakota and the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation, and was last seen on May 8 in Ashland.

Hall says the BIA won’t comment on the identity of the remains until testing is complete.
