An outdoor drama in Pembroke that tells the story of a Native American whom some consider a hero wont open this year because of a lack of money.
The Fayetteville Observer reports that the drama Strike at the Wind usually runs from the last week of June through August. The Carolina Arts Network produces the show, which is based on the story of Henry Berry Lowrie, an outlaw who spent years tracking those who killed his father and brother.
Willie Lowery, a member of the Carolina Arts Network, said the group plans to use the time off to develop a marketing strategy to attract more people to Strike at the Wind!, which has been performed since 1976.
