Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe pumps up gas sales

Kingston, Washington (AP) April 2010

Gasoline sales are so good at the Gliding Eagle Shell station between Kingston and Hansville it plans to increase capacity from eight to 12 pumps.

The station is operated by the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe and sells gas for 10-to-15 cents per gallon less than some nearby stations.

The Kitsap Sun reports the station is the tribe’s second-largest business behind The Point Casino.

The state reimburses the tribe for 75 percent of the state gasoline tax it collects.
