Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe member Danny Sullivan anticipated the energy crisis several years ago by building an energy efficient, solar powered log cabin from trees on his property.

He uses those same trees to heat water for bathing. He pumps the water from a barrel on top a woodstove in his garage to gravity feed to a shower and tub inside his house.

Sullivan learned many of these applications from the Lac Courte Oreilles Community College Renewable Energy program headed by Steve Kozak.
