Patty Loew is an enrolled member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. She's also a public television journalist and Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

During the past two years Loew along with other professors from the UW and Lac Courte Oreilles Community College have taught a science media camp to integrate more native students into science. More than two dozen students participated, serving as reporters, photographers, editors, and music composers.

The focus this year was on the impact of global warming on Ojibwe homelands. There's concern the drought will dry up the wild rice lakes. Click read more or headline to view video.
